Rip T with Knee Lift
This drill simply combines the previous two drills.
The Drill:
Have the player stand in the stretch position, and perform a knee lift just like before. However, as their knee comes up, they should also perform the Rip-T. The player SHOULD NOT follow through with a pitching sequence yet.
Points of Emphasis:
1. The player should not follow through at all. They should simply step down once their Rip-T is in place.
2. Make sure both parts are correct. The knee should still come up, toe should hang, leg bent slightly outward, arms circle, elbow above shoulder, ball pointed backwards.
3. The EASIEST way to teach this drill is to tell the player to pretend like they are cracking an egg over their knee as it comes up. This will force them to circle their arms into the Rip-T.
4. If they are stepping down, their knees will come together underneath them. If they are following through like they should not be, this will not happen.
