Long Towel Snaps:
Long towel snaps are used to simulate the correct pitching motion and follow-through. If the pitcher snaps the towel around their head correctly, it should come back up over their throwing shoulder on the follow-through.
Setup:
Take a beach towel, or bath towel and roll it up - use medical tape to tape it into place, similar to a rope.
The Drill:
From the stretch, the pitcher should go through their entire pitching motion from knee-lift, through the Rip-T and follow-through. The towel should "snap" as it is thrown (comes around) and should come back up over their throwing shoulder upon follow-through.
Points of Emphasis:
1. Make sure the player is paying attention to all of their pitching steps, and not just the towel coming around. Perfecting the mechanics of the motion is just as important as simply perfecting the followthrough.
