Changeup Dribble Drill:

This drill is similar to grip flips except now, you need to have a flat surface which can bounce the ball back up to you - a gym floor works best, but a flat asphalt or cement driveway, sidewalk or street can also work.

The Drill:

For this drill, using the "pitchfork" grip as described on the grips page will work the best.

With the pitchfork grip, you should throw the ball at the ground with a locked wrist. Your arm need not be locked, but the wrist should be. If you're doing it correctly, the ball should bounce back to you with little or no spin.

Points of Emphasis:

1.  Make sure the player’s wrist is locked, but they are not locking their full arm.  The throw should look relatively natural.
2.  Watch the bounce of the ball to see if the player has achieved minimal spin.
